'No unique benefit in Bengaluru jail'

She can work on the off chance that she needs, says official

AIADMK break general secretary V.K. Sasikala's first day in jail was the same as some other detainee serving a basic detainment sentence. H.N. Sathyanarayana Rao, Director General of Police (Prisons) elucidated on Thursday that she was not concurred any uncommon benefits.

"We are not giving her any uncommon treatment. As she is experiencing straightforward detainment, she doesn't need to work. Be that as it may on the off chance that she needs, she can take up exercises like making candles," said a jail official.

'Ragi-based sustenance'

Sources said Ms Sasikala was given "ragi-based sustenance" for supper on Wednesday. On Thursday, she had puliyodharai (tamarind rice) for breakfast.

'Seen walking'

"Later in the day, she was spotted wearing a white sari while going for a walk on the jail grounds," said a source from the jail division.

On Wednesday evening around 6.30 p.m., Ms. Sasikala and her co-blamed J. Elavarasi were taken into the ladies' cell by prison authorities. A couple of minutes after the fact, another co-charged, V.N. Sudhakaran was taken into the jail premises.

Pugazhendi, AIADMK, Karnataka State Secretary said that before she entered the jail grounds on Wednesday evening, Ms. Sasikala disclosed to her units not to stress. "She guaranteed me that triumph would be on our side," he said.
