Spear Armstrong: Banned cyclist neglects to square £79m US government claim

Restricted cyclist Lance Armstrong has lost his offer to hinder a $100m (£79m) claim by the US government.

The suit asserts that Armstrong duped the legislature by swindling while riding for the freely supported US Postal Service group.

It was documented by Armstrong's previous partner Floyd Landis before being joined by the legislature in 2013.

A government judge declined to obstruct the claim on Monday, which makes room for the case to go to trial.

Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and restricted for life in August 2012.

The 45-year-old won the seven titles in the vicinity of 1999 and 2005. The US Postal Service supported the group in the vicinity of 1996 and 2004.

Armstrong confessed to utilizing drugs in each of the seven of his Tour wins in January 2013 while Landis was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title for coming up short a doping test.
