Shahabuddin in Patna's Beur imprison enroute to Tihar

The Apex court had guided the Bihar government to exchange Shahabuddin to Tihar imprison inside seven days.

Dubious RJD pioneer Mohammad Shahabuddin came to here today enroute to Delhi where he would be stopped in Tihar imprison as per the bearing of the Supreme Court.

"In acquiescence to Apex Court heading, Shahabuddin has been conveyed to Patna at the beginning of today. He has been kept in Beur focal correctional facility from where he would be taken to Delhi's Tihar imprison," Inspector General (Prisons) Anand Kishore told PTI.

In answer to an inquiry as whether Shahabuddin would be taken to Delhi by flight or Rajdhani express prepare, Kishore declined to uncover anything on the issue saying that "We are keeping it (the travel plan of Shahabuddin) a mystery as we did while conveying him to Patna from Siwan."

"Indeed, even in Siwan, no one knew with the exception of Siwan DM, SP, IG (STF) and other two—three authorities about Shahabuddin being taken to Patna...We are keeping it mystery because of different reasons including operational troubles and different issues," IG (Prisons) said.

The Apex court had on February 15 last guided the Bihar government to exchange Shahabuddin to Tihar imprison inside seven days to guarantee free and reasonable trial in the arguments held up against him through video conferencing.

The request went ahead the supplications by Siwan—based Chandrakeshwar Prasad, whose three children were killed in discrete episodes, and Asha Ranjan, spouse of recorder Rajdeo Ranjan who was killed in Siwan, looking for moving of Shahabuddin, a four time MP and twice a MLA, from Siwan imprison.
