Iraq starts fight to free western Mosul from IS

Iraqi government powers have propelled a hostile to free the western piece of the city of Mosul from the supposed Islamic State.

Several military vehicles, upheld via air control, moved over the forsake towards the jihadists' positions at an early stage Sunday.

Iraqi strengths retook two towns south of the city in the principal hours of the operation, a top authority said.

The hostile was formally reported by Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

Armed force Staff Lieutenant General Abdulamir Yarallah said in an announcement that world class Rapid Response units caught the towns of Athbah and Al-Lazzagah - two towns south of Mosul air terminal.

Government powers retook the eastern side of the city, the last major IS fortress in Iraq, a month ago. In any case, military authorities say the western side, with its tight, winding roads, may demonstrate a greater test.

As the progress got going, the UN chief for human rights approached the Iraqi government to research recordings shared via web-based networking media that seemed to show Iraqi troops fiercely manhandling and executing IS warriors in the city of east Mosul before the end of last year.
