Guptill harmed his correct hamstring amid preparing, a different damage to the one to his left side leg that discounted the opening batsman of the Bangladesh T20 arrangement in January and one-day matches against Australia prior this month.
Auckland wicketkeeper-batsman Glenn Phillips will make his universal introduction as Guptill's trade for Friday's T20 coordinate at Eden Park, the group said on Wednesday.
Senior member Brownlie has Guptill's spot in the ODI squad for the initial two apparatuses of the five-amusement arrangement.
Selector Gavin Larsen said the 20-year-old Phillips earned his choice on the quality of his residential frame.
