Eight dead after Xinjiang cut assault, government says

Feb 15, 2017-Five individuals have been slaughtered and five others harmed in a blade assault in China's anxious Xinjiang locale.

The three blade using aggressors were shot dead by police on Tuesday in Pishan province, the nearby government said.

No intention was given, however the legislature frequently points the finger at Muslim separatists for such assaults.

Xinjiang, a self-sufficient district, is home to China's Uighur ethnic minority, which is overwhelmingly Muslim.

The locale has endured years of distress.

Rights bunches say the viciousness is a result of the tight controls by the legislature on the religion and culture of Uighurs. The legislature denies any constraint.

An announcement posted on the nearby government site called the assailants "hooligans". It said police were on the scene inside minutes.

"At present, social request is typical at the site, society is steady, and examination work is under way," it said.
