Beautified war legend who served in SAS murdered in helicopter crash while battling fierce blazes

A beautified war saint who served in the SAS has been slaughtered in a helicopter crash while battling out of control fires.

Corporal David Steven Askin, 38, won New Zealand's second most noteworthy military honor in 2014 for his activities in Afghanistan.
